It’s clear that our top flight league is dominated by goalkeepers from overseas; Italy, Germany, Australia and America to name a few. The development of keepers in these countries is taken very seriously, and the earlier goalkeepers can be positively influenced the better.

MEGA provides a fantastic opportunity for young goalkeepers to learn new or fine tune existing skills required to develop into a competent and confident goalkeeper.

Martin Edwards is an FA level 3 goalkeeping coach with over 20 years experience. At MEGA we can offer top-quality, enthusiastic, supportive and affordable goalkeeping coaching in Darlington and the North East of England for all abilities: men, women, and young keepers all welcome! MEGA also coaches in London twice a month.

Martin runs holiday courses at Wormwood Scrubs in west London, Hurworth football Club in Darlington and at South Park in Darlington, so call Martin now to book your place! See ‘Next Courses’ for more details. Booking is essential for all sessions.

Martin has great experience working with young keepers at Spurs , Middlesbrough, Fulham, Leyton Orient, QPR, Crystal Palace, in the USA and for the FA. Martin is currently the Goalkeeping Coach for Martin Gray Football Academy in Darlington.

Martin is in constant contact with clubs at all levels. If a club needs a goalkeeper for a certain age group, they will ask him to take his best MEGA keepers down to their training ground, and put on a session to showcase their talents. And if a young keeper is showing exceptional promise, Martin will call the clubs to alert them.
